I'm a former security consultant in the philippines and I’ve have known and witnessed those crimes before I worked and ultimately settled here in singapore a very safe country compared to ours’. In manila there is 1 million lost firearms(2 illegal firearms in circulation for every gun issued to police officers and soldiers) and 1 million outstanding warrants or fugitives in manila then if u add the fugitives from the provinces that are hiding and finding work in manila on top of it it could reach to 1.5 million unemployed fugitives with no means of living which are more likely involved in illegal activities roaming the streets of manila. SO I SUGGEST OFWs and families of OFWs to take extra precaution because you are the sweet and soft targets this worthless people want.I also suggest you own and learn to fire a handgun. Most if not all akyat bahay criminals survey their victims houses before they strike but if they find out you have firearms inside your locked house most of them would reconsider breaking in and the only way to deal with imminent deadly force is to react with deadly force kill the criminal if you have to you'll save yourself and his future victims. DO NOT TRUST THE POLICE IN THE PHILIPPINES BELIEVE ME THEY WILL ONLY BE THERE WHEN YOU’RE ALREADY DEAD OR WORST ALIVE BUT PERMANENTLY DISABLED AND MOST OF THE TIME THEY ARE INVOLVED WITH THOSE WORTHLESS CRIMINALS if ever you get unfortunately victimized by those a**holes but fortunate to get your case some media attention then probably someone will be jailed or most likely killed for the crime done to you but the thing is most of the time some other criminal not the one who did the thing to you will be caught or killed. the logistics of our police force on tracking and getting fugitives are so inadequate and funny when compared to other police forces that if someone not known and living in manila kills and robs you in manila then hides in some province in mindanao he’ll never get caught.
