For job-seekers seeking employment opportunities in Taiwan, a Taiwanese employer is in need of 150 factory workers. The representatives of the employer will be coming to POEA on the first week of August to interview applicants.

Through the special hiring program for Taiwan in cooperation with Manila Economic and Cultural Office (Meco), the POEA will be helping in the employment of 120 male and 30 female factory workers. The employer will be I-Mei Foods Corporation.

There are approximately 160,000 OFWs in Taiwan.

I-Mei Foods Corporation is a household name and is one of the biggest food companies in Taiwan with 3000 employees and three factories (Long-Tan, Nan-Kan and Vietnam). The range of products include biscuits, candies, snacks, beverages, frozen prepared foods, ice cream, etc.

I-Mei products are being exported to North America, Europe, the Middle East, Southeast Asia, Australia and many others. They are also one of the major suppliers for many well-known international retailers and fast food chains in Taiwan, such as McDonald’s, Burger King and KFC.

Application Requirements (Male Applicants)

  • Not more than 35 years old
  • At least 168 cm tall
  • Weighs 58 to 78 kilos
  • Should have any of the following skills: welder, air-condition technician, electrician, cook, food industry machine operator, construction lathe operator

Application Requirements (Female Applicants)

  • Not more than 30 years old
  • At least 158 cm tall
  • Weighs 48 to 68 kilos
  • Work experience either in nursing or food industry machine operation

Qualified applicants have until July 31, 2009 to submit a detailed resume with job description, school credentials, employment certificates, passport copy, and two pieces of 2×2 recent picture at the Manpower Registry Division, Window I, ground floor, Blas F. Ople Building in Ortigas Avenue corner EDSA, Mandaluyong City.
