Recruitment of health workers in the US is set to continue until 2014. This is another good news for Filipinos hoping to land nursing jobs outside of the Philippines particularly in the US.

Although local nurses are also needed in the Philippines, Filipino doctors and nurses prefer to go somewhere else abroad where opportunities are greater and brighter in terms of career advancement and of course – much higher salaries.

According to Emmanuel Geslani who works for FAME or Federated Association of Manpower Exporters, approximately 1.2 million nurses more will be hired in the US until 2014. The statement was based on the US Department of Health and Human Services.

Since the visa processing for foreign nurses has yet to be made easier by US States Citizenship  and Immigration Service or USCIS, Filipino nurses should not exclusively wait for the nursing job opportunities in the US but instead seek job opportunities and gain work experiences either locally or elsewhere abroad. Geslani also cited that numerous job opportunities also awaits Filipino nurses in the Middle East.

Instead of idly waiting for the just the US job opportunities alone, why not apply elsewhere where you can gain more nursing experience and improve your nursing potential and qualification?
