New Record Required for Kuwait Residency Visas
To prevent any criminals or wanted persons from entering Kuwait, the Immigration Department at the Ministry of Interior has added an additional requirement for expatriates entering the country.
The MoI will not grant any expatriate a residency, unless they bring an official letter from security authorities of their country stating that they have no criminal record. This new requirement will take effect starting August 2009.
This official letter must be authenticated by their home country and the Kuwaiti Embassy in that country. Kuwaiti embassies worldwide will be responsible for authenticating the said letters in order to avoid any fallacious documents. This new procedure will be applicable to men, women, company residencies and dependent visas.
