After a successful Labor Day Job Fair last May 1, the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) will conduct a bigger three-day job and livelihood fair nationwide as part of the Independence Day celebration on June 12, 2009.

Dubbed as Kalayaan 2009 Mega Job and Livelihood Fair, the fair will be held simultaneously in 19 cities nationwide on June 12, 13, and 14. Those paticipating will be about 1,000 employers from the private and government sectors as well as those from the overseas recruitment industry.

Applicants should register as early as possible at http://phil-job.net for early pre-screening even before the actual job fair starts.

Kalayaan 2009 Mega Job and Livelihood Fair Itinerary

• First Day (June 12) – Government agencies will offer 50,000 job vacancies especially for professionals and other jobseekers with civil service eligibility.

• Second Day (June 13) – Private local companies will offer some 70,000 job vacancies.

• Third Day (June 14) – Recruitment agencies will offer some 50,000 sea-based and land-based overseas employment.

The other good news for unemployed Pinoys is that government agencies nationwide will also award about 30,000 emergency jobs to displaced and other unemployed workers under the emergency employment program of President Gloria Macapagal Arroyo.
